The 8171 web portal (8171.bisp.gov.pk) is the official BISP site where you can check your Benazir Kafaalat (old Ehsaas Kafaalat) payment by CNIC. In 2026 the quarterly instalment is Rs. 14,500, raised from Rs. 13,500 in early 2026 (January–March 2026 quarter). 8171 Check Online by CNIC – Step by Step
- Open the official 8171 web portal: 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
- Enter your 13-digit CNIC number without dashes.
- Type the captcha code shown on the screen.
- Press Submit. The portal shows whether you are eligible and whether your payment is ready to collect.
If the result says you are not eligible, your household’s survey data may be old. See the registration section below.
8171 Check by SMS
If you do not have internet, write your CNIC number in an SMS and send it to 8171 from any mobile network. BISP replies with your eligibility and payment status. Real BISP messages come only from 8171 – messages from any other number asking for money or a PIN are fake.
Ehsaas Portal and BISP – What Changed?
Many people still search for the Ehsaas portal or “Ehsaas 8171”. The Ehsaas Kafaalat programme was renamed Benazir Kafaalat in 2022 and is run by BISP. The same 8171 number and portal are used, so the “Ehsaas 8171 check” and the “BISP 8171 check” are the same thing.
Who Is Eligible for the Rs. 14,500 Payment?
- The household must be surveyed in the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER).
- The household’s PMT score must be 32 or less (37 or less if a family member is disabled).
- The payment is made to the woman of the household, who must have a valid NADRA CNIC.
- Government employees and their spouses are not eligible, and families with significant assets can be excluded after data checks.
8171 Registration 2026 – How to Register
There is no online self-registration form for BISP. Websites that ask you to “register online” or pay a fee are not official. To register or update your data:
- Visit your nearest BISP Tehsil Office or Dynamic Registration Centre.
- Take the original CNICs of the adults and B-Forms of the children in your family.
- Complete the free NSER (dynamic) survey of your household.
- After a few weeks, send your CNIC to 8171 or check on the 8171 web portal to see the result.
How to Collect Your BISP Payment
- When your payment is ready you will get an SMS from 8171.
- Go to a BISP payment campsite or the partner bank’s authorised point with your original CNIC.
- Your biometric (thumb) verification is done and you receive the full amount.
- Count your money and take the receipt. No one is allowed to deduct any amount – report deductions to the helpline 0800-26477.
Will the Amount Increase to Rs. 18,000?
According to Business Recorder (June 2026), the federal government told the IMF it would raise the quarterly Kafaalat stipend to Rs. 18,000 from January 2027. The BISP budget for 2026-27 is Rs. 838 billion for about 10.2 million Kafaalat families. This increase has not been officially notified yet, so the current amount remains Rs. 14,500.
